Common things

Bought a country, it's locked	Open About → Restore purchases and sign in to the same Apple or Google account you bought it with. Purchases are tied to that account, not to the device.
No photographs	Each country's photographs are a separate download of 25–42 MB. Open the country and choose Download photographs. Restaurants, cafés, bars and shops have no photographs by design — see below.
Freeing up space	About → Downloaded photographs lets you remove any country's images. The writing stays; only the photographs go, and you can download them again at any time.
Does it work offline	Yes, completely, once a country's photographs have downloaded. The 12,500 entries of writing are inside the app from the moment you install it.
An entry is wrong or closed	Please tell us which country, which list, and which entry. Corrections go into the next build, and closures are the thing we most want to hear about.
A photograph is wrong	Same — tell us the entry. Every image is credited in About → Photo credits with a link to its source.

Why some lists have no photographs

Restaurants, cafés, bars and shops carry no images. Wikimedia Commons has almost nothing usable for individual venues, and what it does have is frequently the wrong subject entirely — a search for one London hotel returns the actor Ned Beatty. A text-only list is the honest form for those, and it is deliberate rather than missing.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, through the store you bought from. Write to us anyway if something is wrong and we will help.
